Intrachem Pvt Ltd is a fast-growing mining explosives & accessories manufacturer and supplier to the mining and construction industries within Zimbabwe and the region.
Job Profile
The Millwright will be responsible for carrying out a range of mechanical, electrical, and electromechanical work on the prime mover and plant using a range of prescribed processes and, tools and machines.
The various duties are, among other things:
- · Carrying out Preventive Maintenance of the explosive plant equipment to ensure minimum downtime. This includes but is not limited to regular inspections, recording, reporting and repair or replacement of plant components to ensure that the explosive plant and associated equipment are operated efficiently and effectively. Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, mechanical, and electromechanical systems associated with explosive plants.
- · Dismantling, inspecting, repairing, and reassembling of a range of pumps e.g., gear, progressive cavity and CAT pumps and associated mechanical equipment.
- · Commissioning of new installations and modifications as per standards and OEM recommendations.
- · Assist with timely ordering of equipment spares to replenish stock and always maintaining stock of critical spares.
- · Assist in the control of the maintenance store.
- · Demonstrate good understanding and commissioning of PLCs.
- · Demonstrate sound interpretation of P & ID diagrams.
- · Adhere to Legal requirements, Company’s Engineering Standards and Safety, Health and Safety and Quality standards and best practice.
- · Ensuring safety issues are reported to the Supervisor and promptly remedied.
- · Work with diesel mechanics and auto electricians performing routine, preventive maintenance and repair work on vehicular equipment including lubrication and oil changes, brake overhauls, wheel balancing, hose replacements, belts repacking, wheel bearings, electrical units, batteries, tires, and maintaining automatic transmissions.
Person Profile
- · Apprenticeship trained Class 1 Millwright.
- · 2 Years post apprenticeship experience.
- · Knowledge of maintenance of mechanical, electrical, electro-mechanical (incl. PLCs) equipment and pumps.
- · Experience in a heavy industry such as mining and/or explosives as an added advantage.
- · Excellent skills in communication, analytical, well-structured, and organised
- · A clean class 4 driver’s licence, class 2 driver’s license is an added advantage.
- · Be prepared to work in remote mining locations and over weekends and holidays.
- · Be prepared to travel around Zimbabwe on work assignments.
Location:
The job will require one to travel to the different sites and mines across Zimbabwe.
